How it works
During a conversation, Vega can choose to save short, durable facts about you — your name, a preference, an ongoing project — so future conversations can pick up on them. Saved memories are stored on your account, separate from your chat history, and are injected quietly into the start of new conversations.
You can see and manage everything Vega has saved at any time from Manage memory in your account menu — view every item, delete individual ones, delete several at once, or download the full list.
Why it sometimes misses something
Saving a memory is a judgment call the model makes in the moment, not a guaranteed action — and Vega's smaller, locally-run models can genuinely miss an opportunity to save something worth remembering, especially in a long or busy reply. That's a real limitation of running on modest local hardware, not something we're hiding.
Add a memory yourself
Because of that, the Memory Manager also has a manual add field — type anything you want Vega to remember and it's saved immediately, no need to wait for the model to notice. This is the reliable way to make sure something specific sticks.
Deleting memories
Memory items are deleted only when you delete them — individually, in bulk from the Memory Manager, or all at once if you delete your account. Nothing is summarized, aged out, or removed automatically.
